#WISHRM24 Vendor Spotlight: Aspect Marketing and the HR Cruise with Mike Medoro

As a part of the WISHRM State Conference SMILE Team, I have the opportunity to connect with speakers and exhibitors and learn more about what to expect at the upcoming conference. Today I spoke with one of the WISHRM24 Vendors, Mike Medoro, about Aspect Marketing and the upcoming HR Cruise .

Q & A with Mike:

1. Who should stop at the Aspect Marketing and Communications, Inc. - HR Conference Cruise booth?

There are always questions about “what is an HR Conference Cruise.”  WISHRM Conference attendees should stop by to learn more about a different way to “conference.”

2. Can you provide a brief summary of what the HR Conference Cruise is?

This HR Conference is unlike any other. The HR Conference Cruise continues the goal of combining a robust human resource conference centered on learning and networking, while sailing to tropical islands and gorgeous getaways. The conference is like other conferences and provides a good number of credits, multiple opportunities for networking, and having fun. Of course the major difference is that HR professionals are on a venue that moves!

With a packed schedule including both SHRM and HRCI recertification credits, the HR Conference Cruise is budget friendly, typically running $130-140 per night for all meals, lodging, and most on-board activities.

On top of interactive sessions, the networking experience is unmatched. With real relationships being formed in cruise activities, on excursions, and during all-inclusive mealtimes onboard the ship, you cannot find a better way to expand your HR network.

The conference is a great way to earn recertification credits, meet other HR Professionals, and network. The HR Conference Cruise is a 5-day cruise sailing that includes 2 sea-days of speaker sessions, and two ports of call. All on a budget-friendly venue!

3. What are you most looking forward to at WISHRM24?

WISHRM is a new partner for the February 22-27, 2025, HR Conference Cruise. The council leaders that I have met/spoken with are on point, engaging, and excited about being a part of the partnership team. I’m thrilled to be here to meet as many attendees as possible and share the benefits of attending an HR Conference Cruise.

4. Why should HR Professionals and People Leaders join the HR Conference Cruise?

Each conference is scheduled for 5-nights, offers 15-16 SHRM Professional Development Credits, a terrific line-up of speakers and topics, and superb networking opportunities. We include four, pre-conference webinars and 7 or 8 sessions on board the cruise ship. All on board sessions are held in the conference center of the cruise ship which can hold up to 400 attendees. The sailings typically offer two ports of call. To quote one of my state council partners – it is truly a “LIFE-WORK balance” with the emphasis on “LIFE.”

5. What are some stand-out activities/sessions planned that make the HR Conference Cruise a unique opportunity or experience?

In addition to the highly-engaging and informative sessions on board, the networking opportunities associated with the conference are both plentiful and meaningful. We joke about the fact that attendees are a “captive audience,” but there are many opportunities to truly get to know/network with other HR Professionals and speakers. In addition to the sessions in the conference center, attendees, speakers, and sponsors, eat together in the Main Dining every evening. We offer a few excursions and schedule planned activities that coincide with the ship’s schedule.

6. If you could give one tip to first time HR Conference Cruise attendees to make the most of the Cruise, what would that be?

Don’t be afraid to try something new! In addition to excellent learning opportunities, “on board the ship time” offers HR Conference Cruise attendees many opportunities to experience fun on the high seas. The ships offer Broadway shows, live bands and house orchestras, comedians, team games, and places to simply relax with friends and colleagues.
